Bikolpodhara leader Mahi B Chowdhury’s ancestral house in Munshiganj’s Sreenagar came under gun attack this evening.

Our local correspondent reports, the criminals involved were yet to be identified over the attack that took place around 9:00pm.

Yunus Ali, officer-in-charge of Shreenagar Police Station, said no one was injured in the attack, but a window was smashed.

Police recovered a bullet shell from the spot, the OC added, adding that the criminals came up from behind the house, fired a shot and fled.

Sources said, Mahi B Chowdhury, son of Bikalpadhara President Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, was out campaigning at that time.

Local Swechhasebok League General Secretary Wahidur Rahman Jithu said the entire family was out when the attack took place.

Bikalpadhara is an ally of the ruling Awami League in the upcoming elections on December 30.
