Schoolboy hacked to death in Gazipur
Unidentified miscreants hacked a schoolboy to death in Gazipur city early yesterday.
The victim, Shuvo Ahmed, 15, was the son of Raju Mia of Fakir Market area in Tongi, and a ninth grader at Future Mak School in BSCIC area.
He was attacked in BSCIC area and left there around 2:00am. On information from locals, police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
The boy went out of his home around 9:00pm on Sunday to have a haircut, but did not return home, said Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station.
When his mother called his number around 2:00am, police picked up the phone and told her about his death.
The OC said there were several injury marks of sharp weapons in the body and head, and they could not immediately figure out why he might be killed.
‘PROTEST AGAINST STALKING’ COSTS YOUTH’S LIFE
Police arrested two youths in Magura sadar upazila on Sunday night for their suspected involvement in stabbing a college student to death.
Lisanur Rahman Lisan, 18, was murdered because he protested the stalking of a schoolgirl from his village by the suspects, said police.
Lisan was the son of Rafikul Islam of Mathbari village in Magura municipality area, and an eleventh-grader of Government Hossain Shaheed Sohrawardy College.
The arrestees are Robin Hossain, 21, a classmate of Lisan, and Robin’s friend Shamim Hossain, 19. They hired another youth to kill Lisan, said police.
OC of Magura Sadar Police Station Sirazul Islam said Robin and Shamim, both residents of Nijnanduali village in the sadar upazila, used to stalk the eighth grader, and Lisan had protested it.
Around 2:00pm on Sunday, Lisan and his friend Dipu Hossain went out of home riding a motorbike. When they reached Shibrampur Government Primary School ground, the hired goon, Sohel Hossain, 22, came over to them and stabbed Lisan with a knife.
He also attacked Dipu when he came to Lisan’s rescue.
Locals rushed to the spot and took them to Magura General Hospital where Lisan was declared dead. Dipu is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Superintendent of Police (SP) in Magura Khan Md Rejuan said there are two reasons behind this murder, and he would reveal them after arrest of the main accused, Sohel.
