BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday filed a general diary with Paltan Police Station seeking action against those who opened fake Facebook accounts in his name.
Fakhrul's personal secretary Yunus Ali said Fakhrul lodged the GD yesterday afternoon.
In the GD, he said, the BNP secretary general said though he did not open any account on Facebook, there are many accounts available in his name.
He urged the law enforcers to take necessary actions regarding the fake accounts, and take legal action against those involved in such malpractice.
Earlier in the day, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference said several fake Facebook accounts have been opened in Fakhrul's name and those were being used to circulate various comments and opinions.
