A seven-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a 55-year-old man at Char Jabbar union in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali on Wednesday.

Besides, a Chattra League leader was sued in Narsingdi, a 45-year-old man was sued in Gazipur and a minor boy was sent to correction facilities in Feni on rape charges yesterday.

In Noakhali, the suspect Abul Haque Kazi of Char Hasan village went into hiding after the incident. On the other hand, the victim was admitted at Noakhali General Hospital for treatment, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

After the incident, the victim's father filed a case with Char Jabbar police on Thursday night against Haque. Police were searching for the suspect as of last evening.

Family members and police said the culprit lured the girl promising to give her cookies and later raped her at his house.

Meanwhile, a schoolgirl was raped allegedly by Asadul Haque Chowdhury Shakil, president of Narsingdi's Raipura upazila unit Chhatra League, on Thursday, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.

The schoolgirl was rescued by police upon receiving call on 999 and kept in police custody.

Her father filed a case against Shakil and one of his associates with Raipura Police Station over the incident yesterday.

According to the girl's family members and police, Shakil called the 10th grader to a local auditorium around 10:00pm Thursday. Later, he raped her around 11:00pm.

At that time, hearing her scream, locals rushed to the spot while Shakil managed to flee the scene.

Mohsin Quadir, officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station, said a case was filed against two persons including BCL leader Shakil.

He said they were investigating the incident and that efforts were on to arrest the accused.

In Gazipur, a 45-year-old man raped a woman in Kaliganj while she was preparing to offer Maghrib prayers on September 24, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

The suspect Faruk forcibly entered her house and raped her by threatening to kill her only son. Faruk raped the woman several times in the past.

The woman mentioned these descriptions in the case statement filed with Kaliganj Police Station yesterday.

AKM Mizanul Haque, officer-in-charge of the police station, said they received rape allegation and were investigating the incident.

In her complainant, the victim stated that she earlier gave Tk 7 lakh to Faruk, her neighbour, to buy a piece of land since her husband lives abroad. Faruk has been stalking her ever since.

In Feni, police yesterday produced a 16-year-old boy before a Senior Judicial Magistrate court after arresting him on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl, reports our Feni correspondent.

Later, the court ordered to send the accused to a juvenile correction facility in Gazipur and sent him to jail for the day.

The court also recorded the victim's account.
