Buet suspends eight more over ragging
The Buet authorities have suspended eight more students from the university for their involvement in ragging students in Titumir Hall.
Buet’s Board of Residence and Discipline made the decision after a report was submitted by a committee formed to investigate the recent ragging at the dormitory, said a university press release yesterday.
The authorities said the suspensions were for different periods but did not mention those. They also expelled the students from the hall, said the release.
The students are: Tanvir Hasnain, Mirza Mohammad Galib, Zahidul Islam, Muntasir Moin, Asif Mahmud, Muntasir Ahmed Khan, Mohibullah Hoque Mugdho, and Anfalur Rahman.
Besides, six other students were suspended from the hall for different periods on the same grounds.
The authorities also warned seven students, including the six, so that such incidents do not repeat in future.
On November 28, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities suspended nine students from the university for their involvement in ragging in Suhrawardy and Ahsan Ullah halls.
It also suspended 21 other students from the two dormitories on different terms and warned four others.
