Clash kills Rohingya woman in refugee camp
A Rohingya woman was killed and four people were injured in a clash between two groups of displaced Myanmar nationals at a camp in Teknaf yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ansar Begum, 35, wife of M Ilias of Block-B of Nayapara Rohingya camp.
Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Model Police Station Ranjit Barua said an altercation ensued between two groups of Rohingyas around 3:00pm over setting up a shop at the camp.
Later, the feuding groups got engaged in a clash and attacked each other with sharp weapons, he said, adding that Ansar Begum died on the spot and four other Rohingyas suffered injuries in the clash.
The injured were taken to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
