Tribute to Feroza Begum

Shusmita Anis, disciple and niece of legendary Nazrul Sangeet artiste Feroza Begum, will perform in today's episode of “Gaane Gaane Shokal Shuru”. The regular morning show of Channel i will air live today at 7:30am. Shusmita Anis will sing at the programme honouring her late aunt, and Syed Meher Hossain will accompany Sushmita on the tabla. The programme is produced by Iftekhar Munim.

Recently, Sushmita Anis, on behalf of Feroza Begum's family, received Banga Bibhushan award from Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, India. Sushmita Anis also performed in Kolkata on Nazrul's birth anniversary celebration programmes organised by the state government. Feroza Begum was posthumously nominated for West Bengal's highest civilian award in recognition to her outstanding contributions to Indian classical music.
