Droho goes to West Bengal in August
As part of a cultural exchange, Bogra Theatre will stage popular play " Droho" in West Bengal, India in August.
Arabindo Trust of Sheuri of Bolpur town on August 15, Moddha Gram on August 17 and Unity Malancho of Noihati town on August 18 will also stage the plays.
As a run up to the big event, " Droho" was staged 21 times by the artistes at Shaheed Titu Millenayatan in Bogra on last week.
"Droho",written and directed by secretary of Bangladesh Gram Theatre Toufique Hasan Moyna , is a narrative of the lives and struggle of Jamuna Char people against the fury of the Jamuna which erodes their houses, crops, land and other belongings. They also have to contend with powerful musclemen and fundamentalists in the area.
Thandu Raihan gave the light direction and Nazrul Islam, Ovi Ghosh, Sajal Sarkar, Tonmoy Shutradhor and Dulal Devnath are ,music directors.
Bogra theatre has staged 70 plays and had 1,600 short plays at home and abroad over the last three decades.
Earlier, the artistes of Aranbindo of Bolpur visited Bogra several times and staged plays.
