Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi honours legendary artistes
Celebrating their 43rd anniversary, the Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi organised a cultural programme at National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), recently. The event, moderated by Fakir Alamgir, also honoured artistes for their contribution in literature and culture.
State Minister of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, K M Khalid, MP, attended the event as the chief guest. Abdul Malek, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Golam Kuddus, President, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, were also present at the event as special guests.
The evening began with an award-giving ceremony. Eminent journalist and poet Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury received the lifetime achievement award, while novelist, dramatist, columnist and television personality, Imdadul Haq Milan received an award in the literary category. Actors Suchanda and Muhammad Sazzad, received awards for their contribution in films and television dramas, respectively. Kumar Bishwajit also received an award for his contribution in music.
The cultural segment of the programme featured performances by renowned cultural organisations, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Kranti Shilpi Goshthi, Satyen Sen Shilpi Gosthi, artistes of Swabhumi and Anandan, and Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi.
