Soumitra Chatterjee’s condition improves
The condition of legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee improved significantly this morning, reports our Delhi Correspondent. The doctors have removed him from the BiPAP and put on a nasal mask.
Soumitra's oxygen saturation has also improved, while his sodium and potassium have been both corrected, doctors, treating him at Belle Vue hospital in Kolkata hospital said.
"He (Soumitra Chatterjee) slept well last night. His restlessness has also improved. His oxygen saturation is normal and both sodium and potassium levels have been corrected. This is a very good sign, said Dr Arindam Kar, leading the team of 15 doctors treating the 85-year-old actor. "We are grateful to the Almighty," he added. The doctor further said that regular tests will be conducted on Chatterjee later today.
The actor was admitted to the hospital on October, 6 after he tested positive for Covid-19.
However, Chatterjee tested negative for Covid-19 on Wednesday, following which he was shifted to a non-Covid Intensive Therapy Unit for treatment. Yesterday, he was given music and physiotherapy.
