‘Serenading Soul’ by Zahangir Alom to kick off from March 18
A solo painting exhibition titled, Serenading Soul, by Zahangir Alom will begin from March 18 at Dhaka Gallery.
Prominent artist Monirul Islam will be present as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Nadia Samdani, President of Samdani Art Foundation, eminent artist Professor Mohammad Eunus, Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, Durjoy Rahman, Founder, Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation, will also attend the event as special guests, while Mustapha Khalid Palash, Architect and Founder of Dhaka Gallery will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
Zahangir Alom will present a collaborative and interactive performance titled, Raag Rang, on March 20. Renowned vocalist Aloke Kumar Sen, three eminent instrumentalists- Firoz Khan on Sitar, Yusuf Khan on Sarod, and Sabuj Ahmed on Tabla along with five celebrated dance artistes, Snata Shahrin (Kathak), Rachel Priyanka Perris (Gaudiya), Sudeshna Swayamprabha (Manipuri), Arthy Ahmed (Bharatanatyam) and Alka Das Pranti (Odishi) will participate. Abul Khair, President of Bengal foundation is said to be present as chief guest.
Born in Sirajganj, artist Zahangir Alom has been passionate towards painting for a decade. His first solo exhibition, The Uncaged, was exhibited at Alliance Francaise De Dhaka in 2017. Besides painting, Zahangir Alom is a cultural reporter at The Daily Star for 11 years.
Beginning from March 18, the exhibition will remain open till March 25 from 12 pm to 8 pm.
