Runa Laila’s birthday surprise for fans

One of the greatest singers to grace the sub-continent, Runa Laila started her career with the Nazrul Islam directorial film "Swaralipi." Today marks the birthday of the legend, on which she put out a pleasant surprise for her fans worldwide.

The song composed by the maestro herself, "Ei Dekha Shesh Dekha" was released under the banner of Dhruba Music Station today, voiced by talented singer Luipa. Arranged by Raja Kasheff and penned by Gazi Mazharul Anwar, the song is a wonderful show of Runa Laila's composition talents.

More tracks, sung by Ankhi Alamgir, Haimanti Rakshit and her daughter, Tani Laila, are on the way, making for an exciting series of events for the newly turned composer.

Even though the year 2020 was bleak, it did have a positive end as we got to know of her collaboration with Asha Bhosle, Hariharan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Adnan Sami in "Legends Forever".

Throughout her career, Runa Laila has evolved her craft, more than happy to pass down the knowledge to young and talented singers. "If I am able to offer my composed tunes to the upcoming singers to sing, it will be very beneficial for them. I want do this, so that they can get better opportunities and also help them gain more exposure," she had said in a previous interview with The Daily Star.

Runa Laila has said multiple times that she wants Bangla music to gain more recognition through international collaborations, and even at the point in her career that she does not need to prove her legacy to anyone, she is a gift that keeps on giving.
