Remembering Tazin Ahmed
Noted actor, model and journalist Tazin Ahmed was one of the most beloved faces in the entertainment industry. Alongside television dramas, she was also appreciated for her simple yet elegant hosting skills and her performance in theatre. Today marks her third death anniversary.
Tazin stepped into the world of theatre with Theatre troupe Natyajan. She first gained popularity from the Ahsanul Haque Minu directorial play Tebhagar Pala. She played the role of an activist in the Tebhaga movement. Her role in "Ghritang Pibet" also managed to win over the viewers within a very short time.
She played the role of Balaka in Aranyak Natyadal's popular play "Mayur Singhasan" and was deeply appreciated by both the audience and the critics. "Tazin was brilliant. Her simplicity and happy-go-lucky nature made her an amazing person to work with," says thespian Mamunur Rashid. "She left us at a very early age and my heart still sinks when I think about her demise."
Tazin Ahmed hosted the show "Tiffiner Phake" for a decade. The show gained popularity and so did Tazin, as a very eloquent television host on screen.
Alongside theatre, the star has worked in numerous tele-fictions, including "Adhare Dhobol Dipti", drama serial "Bondhon", "Odhekha Bhubon", "Maa", "Bondhu Amar", and "Tomar Khola Haawa", among many others.
She played the lead role in Humayun Ahmed's "Neel Churi" opposite Mahfuz Ahmed, gaining ground on her ability to project effortless and realistic acting on screen. Similar magic was created by her performance in Sheikh Neyamat Ali's "Sesh Dekha Sesh Noy" where she shared the screen with Tauquir Ahmed.
Tazin Ahmed soon gained admiration as a scriptwriter. She authored quite a few television projects, with "Bridhyaashram" gaining the most popularity as a serial drama on television.
Tazin Ahmed passed away on May 22, 2018, due to a cardiac arrest. She was only 42 years old.
