Prominent artist Rafique Siddiqui passes away
Prominent artist Rafique Siddiqui passed away at Uttara, Dhaka on Thursday night. He was an Associate Professor and Director, Planning and Development at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Uttara, Dhaka since 2006.
One of the finest gentlemen and a great soul, the artist had been suffering from kidney problems for a period of time. His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held yesterday morning at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Uttara campus. His second Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Jumma prayer at Chittagong Art College, according to Iftekhar Haque, the deceased’s son-in-law. Later, he was buried at his native village Chunati, Lohagara, Chattogram yesterday afternoon.
“I’m at a loss for words. May Allah SWT grant him the highest rank in Jannah for all his good deeds and give enough strength to the bereaved family, students and friends to bear the irreparable loss! Life is way too short and everything can change in a matter of seconds,” expressed Iftekhar Haque on social media.
Rafique Siddiqui left behind his wife, two daughters, a son, a host of relatives, friends and students to mourn for his demise.
