Producer-director Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu passes away
Noted Bangladeshi producer and director Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu passed away this morning. Khorshed Alam Khosru, the President of the Film Producer Distributor Association, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. He was 65 years of age, and had tested positive for Covid-19.
He was admitted at the Anwar Khan Modern Medical College and Hospital two weeks ago, where he was undergoing treatment at the ICU.
Hailing from Basail in Tangail, Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu has produced and directed over 30 films in his career. The name of his production house is Pinky Films. Actor Tushar Khan is his nephew.
Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu was the president of Bangladesh Film Club, the general secretary of Film Producer Distributor Association and a member of Directors' Guild.
His notable works include "Desh Dorodi", "Ami Gunda Ami Mastaan", "Raja No1", and "Action Jasmine", among others.
