Music fest paying tribute to Niloufer Manzur
The Horizon Sessions, a music festival, hosted by students and alumni of Sunbeams School Dhaka is organised in honour of Niloufer Manzur, a pioneer of education in Bangladesh. The initiative, supported by Friendship NGO, aims to raise awareness and funds for COVID-19 and Cyclone Amphan relief. The funds will go towards building COVID-19 testing booths in rural Bangladesh and rebuilding homes, reservoirs, and embankments destroyed by Cyclone Amphan in the south. Uttaran will undertake the latter project.
The music festival will take place for three weeks, with each week featuring artistes from across the country. During the first week, performers will include local and international acts from the Sunbeams School community in tribute to the principal. Azaan Khan, Ursa Major and others will perform. The second week will feature notable Bangladeshi artistes Habib, Arnob, Zohad Chowdhury and others. The third week will feature international artistes with Bangladeshi heritage, including Shapla Farzana Shalique.
The live performances will be streamed online every weekend from today till July 11. For more information, visit The Horizon Sessions' Facebook and Instagram pages.
