National Award-winning actor Jaya Ahsan is a beloved face in the film industries of Bangladesh and India. The actor celebrates her birthday today. On a candid chat with The Daily Star, Jaya talks about how she celebrates the day, returning to work and more.
Many happy returns of the day from The Daily Star family.
Thank you so much. I thank all my well-wishers, readers and everyone else from The Daily Star.
How are you celebrating your birthday this year?
I am staying at home. I was surprised to receive flowers and gifts, even in these unprecedented times. I have got several calls and messages. I have not done anything grand for my birthday for the last few years. Four years ago, on this day, the Holy Artisan Café attack took place. I don't feel like celebrating my birthday on such a tragic day for our country. However, my mother always cooks my favourite dishes for me. This year, she cooked polao and beef curry.
How are you spending time at home?
I am spending time with my family. I used to stay up late into the night, but now, I go to sleep early. I have been enjoying gardening at my terrace. I have also been watching movies and reading books.
Do you plan to resume work any time soon?
I am not thinking about going back to work right now. If we get through this pandemic, we will have plenty of time for work in the future. I hope that we can return to our regular life and our workplaces soon.
Do you have any message for your fans?
Fans are the greatest blessings for any artiste. They inspire us. I hope that my fans are staying safe and maintaining all precautions at this time.
