Film shoots to resume from June 5
Film shoots were suspended across the country for more than two months, to curb the spread of the coronavirus, bringing the film industry to an abrupt halt. However, as the government is slowly lifting the coronavirus restrictions and reopening certain industries, film shoots are set to resume from tomorrow.
Everyone involved in the industry must follow strict protocols and regulations set by the government, on the shooting premises. Those who are willing to shoot, are advised to get tested for COVID-19, before coming back to work.
"Most people in the industry are eager to resume shoots as many of them want to finish the postponed projects," shares Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, President, Bangladesh Film Directors' Association. "Considering these circumstances, we have decided to resume our work, following government rules and regulations, from June 5."
"Thousands of people involved in this industry are daily wage earners, and they have to resume work for their survival. So, we decided to resume film shoots," adds Khorshed Alam Khasru, President of Bangladesh Film Producers' Association.
"If we are careful and willing to follow the health guidelines properly, our halted film industry can get back on its feet again," shares film actor Nirab.
"Maintaining health guidelines is a must and we have to ensure that no one gets infected for another person's negligence," adds Ferdous.
Directors who had to postpone their ongoing projects are eager to get back to the sets. "My new film was scheduled to be finished a while back, but everything had to be postponed. I am looking forward to going back to work," says director Giasuddin Selim.
