Colours that enhance the joy of festival

Festivals are the best time to wear one’s finest outfit, as it reflects the colourful celebrations all over the country. Bishwo Rang, one of the top fashion houses of the county today, adds to the joy with their conceptualised products. Biplob Saha, the owner of the brand, talks about how themes and symbols of religious concepts can add an extravagant impression to our culture. “I took the initiative to introduce the first Durga Puja collection in the fashion industry of Bangladesh,” says Biplob.

The talented fashion designer and artist was fond of playing with colours since he was little. Durga Puja is the biggest festival celebrated by Bengalis across the world. They look forward to this occasion the whole year, to be a part of an exciting celebration with friends and family. Biplob shared that he spent his childhood in Narayanganj. “My festivity would start from one month before the actual time of the Puja,” he says.

He would observe all the details of how the idols were created and ornamented. “I was always attracted to this art, as it always put me into ease while experimenting with colours and creative activities,” he adds.

Bishwo Rang rejuvinated the themes of red and white, kashbon and kashful in the clothing industry ,with the help of some of the acclaimed lifestyle supplements of the country. The Puja special editions in print media, according to Biplob, help boost the popularity of the brand. 

“We launched Puja special outfits this year. They portrait of the Debi, with her mantra, turned out to be extremely popular in our collection,” says Biplob.

Keeping the season and comfort in mind, the brand segregates its day and nightwear designs, and keeps their materials different from one another. For the day, it has the light and comfortable materials. On the other hand, the nightwear is made with synthetic clothes with sequence works and patterns in it. 

Biplob thinks that the consumers should use more domestic products. “Our culture and heritage are very rich. Being aware of our roots will enable us to love our country from the heart.”
