Cartoon People Gaan-Toon Caricature Challenge 7: Female cartoonists steal the show

Cartoon People launched their online weekly contest titled, Cartoon People Gaan-Toon Caricature Challenge, recently. In the seventh edition of the challenge, artistes from all over the nation were asked to sketch caricatures of celebrated musician Armeen Musa.

There were 32 interesting submissions in this segment. "Girls doing caricature was not a very familiar scene in Bangladeshi cartoon community before. As days are passing more and more girls are participating. At Cartoon People Gaan-Toon Caricature Challenge 7, we see the same trend being followed!" This time our female cartoonists were the showstoppers. Surprisingly they bagged all 5 prizes out of 6, including the 1st position. This makes me utterly happy," shared Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy, noted cartoonist and the founder of the community. "Also, Armeen Musa's live performance added more excitement to this episode."

During the Facebook live session, there was a lot of interactions between Armeen Musa and the participating artists. "When I was chosen for this challenge, I was worried as I believe I am a very simple person and so is my music, and I thought no one would draw me. However, the submissions are really awesome!" she said during the live session.

The winners of this session, judged by the musician herself with Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy and noted poet and journalist Anik Khan, the advisor to Cartoon People, were declared during the live session on Cartoon People's official Facebook page. The winners of Cartoon People Gaan-Toon Caricature Challenge 7 are Nafisa Anjum and Angona Ahsana (first place), Syed Nafis (second place), Rehnuma Proshoon (third place) and, Eshita Rahman and Eeha Nawar (fourth place). The final segment of this challenge is set to feature rockstar Zohad Reza Chowdhury from the renowned band Nemesis.
