Bassbaba Sumon shares health update, asks for prayers

Bassbaba Sumon posted this picture on Facebook today.

Popular bassist and frontman of Aurthohin, Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, better known by his stage name 'Bassbaba Sumon', has been suffering from a severe spinal cord injury for a while. He was supposed to travel to Germany for further treatment, but could not do so, owing to the restrictions induced by the pandemic.

Sumon has been spending time at his residence and has taken a break from music, as his health does not permit him to sit still in one place for longer than 10 minutes, informs the band's manager, Md Razu Ahmed. "He had recovered from cancer years ago and is currently under post-operative medication. He even survived Covid-19. We can only hope for the best and support him," adds Razu.

The artiste posted a recent picture today on his Facebook account. "My health is not well. Please pray for my quick recovery," wrote Sumon.

Bassbaba had suffered from the spinal cord injury after an accident in Bangkok in 2017. His family and peers are trying their best to take care of him, and process his visa for Germany. He has been under the supervision of local doctors, as well as foreign physicians online.
