Director and writer Ariq Anam Khan's short film, Transit, will be screened at two renowned festivals over the coming weeks. The official world premiere will be held at the Encounters Film Festival in UK and the international premiere will be held at the highly prestigious Busan International Film Festival. Transit is the story of a salesman, on the verge of poverty, who waits for a migrant visa to Italy, hoping that it would change his luck and create a better future for his family.
The film was shot in 2019, and completed in early 2020. Jahangir Alam plays the main role in the film. Other key cast members are Sharmeen Akhee, Baidya Nath Saha, Khairul Alam Tipu, Sharif Hossain Emon and others. ET Ng is the cinematographer, Sameer Ahmed is the editor and Arafat Mohsin is the music composer.
Due to the global pandemic, the Encounters Film Festival will take place online this year. Transit will be screened online between September 17 and 27. The Busan International Festival will also take place in a limited manner in South Korea from October 21 to 30.
