Andrew Kishore Laid to rest at Church of Bangladesh Cemetery in Rajshahi
Playback legend Andrew Kishore was laid to rest today at 12:30 pm at the cemetery of Church of Bangladesh in Rajshahi. His funeral was held at the church alter at 9 am. He was kept at the church alter for his fans, family members and friends to pay their last respect, informs his niece, Dr Ipshita Biswas. The actor breathed his last on July 6 after battling cancer for a while.
According to his family, his burial has been delayed so that his son Joy Andrew Shoptok and daughter Minim Andrew Shongya, who currently live in Australia, could have the time to reach Bangladesh and attend their father's funeral. The singer had asked for his family to wait for his children to arrive to pay their final visit before his burial. While Shoptok had managed to arrive in Rajshahi on July 8, Shongya reached her father's side on July 15.
The singer had visited his parent's grave, who are buried in the same seminary, on last year's All Souls Day. This is where he had expressed to lay in rest beside his mother. Following his final wishes, the eight-time National Award winning singer now rests beside his parents in his hometown in Rajshahi.
