Ameen Badal’s solo Ghazal soiree at National Museum
Ameen Badal’s solo Ghazal soiree was held at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on October 4. Jahangirnagar University Graduates Club arranged the programme, in which the artiste rendered several famous ghazals like Kayse Sakoon Paoon Tujhe Dekhneko Baad, Gunchay Shakh Laga Haye, Dil Mein Ek Laherchhi Uthi Haye Abhi and Kabhi Aah Lab Pe Machal Gayi.
Convener of the programme organising committee, Moinul Hasan Mitul delivered welcome address, while Jabed Hossain elaborated on Urdu Ghazal at the programme.
Born in Chandpur, Ameen Badal’s knack for music dates back to his childhood days. During his school life, he took musical lessons at Chandpur Sangeet Niketan. An alumnus of the Department of Geography of Jahangirnagar University, Badal started taking tutelage from famous Ustad Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury. A special grade artiste of both Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar (Radio), Badal’s forte includes Khayal, Thumri and Ghazal.
