Alamgir tests negative for Covid-19, discharged from hospital
Noted actor Alamgir was discharged from the hospital earlier today, after testing negative for Covid-19. His daughter, singer Akhi Alamgir, confirmed that he has returned home, after being hospitalised for 16 days. He had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 18.
"My father feels a bit weak at the moment, but he is fine otherwise. The doctors have advised him to stay home, take rest, and follow all safety measures," she said.
Born in Dhaka in 1950, Alamgir is one of the most prolific actors of his time, winning the National Award a record 9 times in his illustrious career. His father, Kalim Uddin Ahmed, was an executive producer of "Mukh O Mukhosh", the first ever feature film in Bangla.
