7th Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema held

With the motto, "Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society", the 19th Dhaka International Film Festival is underway. As part of the festival, on January 17-18, the 7th Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid inaugurated the conference. Liakat Ali Lucky, Director General, BSA, along with Hannah Fisher, Director, Toronto Film Festival and Meral Melika Duran, Manager, France Film Festival were virtually present at the event.

Six keynote papers were presented by discussants, participants and panelists at the conference. Independent filmmaker, Mehzad Ghalib, film critic, Sadia Khalid, DIFF Chairperson Professor Kishwar Kamal, ActionAid Bangladesh country director Farah Kabir, Filmmaker Chaitaly Samaddar, actor Bonnya Mirza, Dr Debjani Halder of Film and Television Institute of India, and Su Lee, South Korean Film Festival producer among others participated at the event.
