272 songs by Ayub Bachchu to be archived
On guitar maestro Ayub Bachchu's second death anniversary tomorrow, Bangladesh Copyright Office will unveil a website archiving 272 of the legendary musician's songs. This is the first time that a Bangladeshi artiste's music is being officially archived by the government.
"We will unveil a website and YouTube channel in honour of Ayub Bachchu, where his work will be preserved," said Registrar of Copyrights, Zafar Raza Chowdhury to The Daily Star. "The website will initially contain 272 of his songs, as well as verified facts about him."
Ayub Bachchu, who passed away due to a cardiac arrest on October 18, 2018, is considered to be one of the greatest Bangladeshi musicians of all time.
