New “NYSM2” trailer finds magicians on the run
A new trailer for “Now You See Me 2” has landed online in the form of an international trailer for the magician-centric follow-up. Director Jon M Chu takes the helm this time around, taking over for the first movie's Louis Letterrier, and this new trailer shows a much more fun-loving, much less serious sequel.
The follow-up finds the Four Horsemen—minus Ilsa Fisher's underwritten character, substituted with a new addition played by Lizzy Caplan—trotting the globe with their Robin Hood-style spectacles a year after the events of the first movie, but they're soon put in peril as the son of Michael Caine's character, played by Daniel Radcliffe, forces them into pulling off their most treacherous heist yet.
This trailer is confusing from a plot standpoint—how is Morgan Freeman's character pulling strings, and where do Radcliffe's allegiances lie?—but in terms of entertainment, the film appears to deliver.
The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Jay Chou, and Sanaa Lathan, and opens in cinemas on June 10th.
