Putul's multiple avatars
Putul first came under the limelight as a contestant of the reality TV show Close Up-1 in 2006. From then onwards, she has also fulfilled the roles of an actor, playback singer, writer and a host. We catch up with the multi-talented artiste to learn about her recent endeavours.
What are you currently busy with?
I am mostly involved in singing at the moment. I am singing in a lot of musical programmes in various television channels. Apart from that, I am also busy hosting television shows.
Which programme did you host most recently?
I have been presenting a singing show titled Sedin Dujone for quite some time now. The show is aired on ETV every Sunday at 10:00 pm and seems to be popular amongst the audience.
Will we always see you as a presenter?
That is kind of difficult to assert. I used to be heavily involved in it earlier, but had to cut down on it due to the lack of time. If time permits, I will definitely continue as I admire the work. However, singing is my true passion.
What are your thoughts on playback singing?
I am rather optimistic about playback singing. If a film score does well, it becomes a big deal for the singer. I would love to continue lending my voice for films. My last playback was in the film Jannat.
Tell us about your latest track.
Shomoyer Kache Minoti is a song that was written, composed, tuned and voiced by me. I am very hopeful about this new song, which may drop sometime in late November.
You have been a part of this industry for 12 years. How do you feel about that?
I feel blessed to have come this far since I started. The recognition and admiration that I receive from the audience is unparallel and priceless. I want to continue to do what I love and entertain my fans.
You're also heavily involved in international shows. Where are you going next?
I feel honoured to represent Bangladesh in the foreign lands. I'm in talks at the moment to sing in Australia and Malaysia in the near future.
Since you're regularly writing books now, what can we expect from you at the next book fair?
I am currently working on a novel that will be available at the book fair. Besides, I also enjoy writing poetry and my poems had been published earlier. My topics usually revolve around women's psychology, and it will be the same for my upcoming novel, which will be released under the banner of Tamralipi.
