Nadia: Busier than ever
Popular actor Nadia Ahmed is known for her versatility, having won her way into the hearts of fans as a graceful dancer and model. Very soon, the actor will be seen in a number of new drama series, which she spoke about in a recent interview with The Daily Star.
How busy are you with small screen plays?
Nadia: I'm mostly occupied with drama series these days. I'm also an active dancer. I'm doing a number of different characters, in different stories.
What plays are you currently involved with?
Nadia: I'm starring in “Bhoboghure”, directed by Al Hazan, as well as “Shobjanta Shamsher” by Shamim Zaman. Other plays are, “Golpogula Amader” by Mizanur Rahman Aryan; “Birombona” by A Zabir Rasel; “Shalish Maane Taalgaach Amar” by Imran Haldar; “Bohe Shomantoraal” by Tushar Khan; and “Cathouse” by Akaash.
Do you find yourself portraying similar characters?
Nadia: Since each play is so different from the other, my characters are also distinct. As an artiste, I want my characters to create a lasting impression on my viewers.
Many actors have backgrounds in dancing, like you, but feel compelled to give it up once they're immerses in their acting careers. How have you managed to remain so focused on both?
Nadia: There's only one reason that makes it all possible. Dance is my passion and I have a deep love for it. I have identified myself as a dancer longer than as an actor. It's in my blood, I can never let go.
You've come a long way in your acting career. Is there anything you wish you could have done differently?
Nadia: I have absolutely no regrets. Each stage in my career has always been a happy one, and I have learned new things along the way. My colleagues have become family, and I feel at home on the sets.
You've entered a new phase in life only recently with your marriage to the actor Nayeem. How are you both doing?
Nadia: Oh, we couldn't be better! Being actors, there's a deep understanding and respect for each other's careers, which brings such harmony into marriage. I can only wish the rest of our lives continue to unfold this way.
