MIM'S DOUBLE JOY
Stars are like everyone else; there's nothing more we all look forward to than festival holidays. After grueling months of filming, the holidays are a much needed respite where they can kick back with their loved ones. Actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim has rapidly climbed the showbiz success ladder in recent years, leading her to win the National Film Award. Aside from enjoying the Puja break, the actress is also looking forward to her upcoming film's release, which she spoke about in a recent conversation with The Daily Star.
How are you spending Puja?
Mim: If my schedule is free, I usually take off for Rajshahi, where I am right now after two years. I'm staying at my maternal uncle's house, along with my parents and sister. Puja is the best time of the year for me. It's always a lot of fun here. You are surrounded by your loved ones, whom you get to see only during this time of the year. We catch up and fill each other in on our lives during the times we've missed each other, and I don't think there is a better way I can spend the break.
How do you manage fans over there?
Mim: It has been a bit difficult to handle my ardent fans, but I wouldn't call it a problem. My work is for the audience, and it is only natural that they would want to see me. There's a large crowd outside, and it's been a bit hard, but at the same time I feel their love.
What is the last day of Puja like for you?
Mim: It's quite saddening; it feels as though Sharadiya Durga Puja just came and left in the blink of an eye. I hope this Puja brings prosperity and luck to everyone, and I now eagerly wait for next year's festival.
Could you tell us about your recent venture?
Mim: “Dulabhai Zindabad” will be released in theatres on October 13. I loved working on the sets of this film, and it has been my first time working alongside the great Moushumi. I have a feeling the audience will love this film. Recently, I have also appeared in a Lux ad, directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. Here I got to work with Mamo and Mehazabien for the first time. Of late, I have filmed for a new music video at FDC, and I shall begin shooting for a new film very soon.
