The second film of Kamar Ahmed Simon's ongoing water trilogy Onnodin... has been selected to be commissioned by La Lucarne, a programme slot on Europe's cultural channel ARTE TV.

Confirming the commission of the film, the commissioning editor Rasha Salti wrote, "I am eager for Arte's audiences to discover an unsuspected representation and narratives of Bangladesh, the poetry, woes, ingenuity, steadfastness of everyday Bangladeshis, and the captivating talent of Kamar Ahmad Simon”.

In 2016, Kamar was awarded in Piazza Grande, for the script of Onnodin... and was invited in Cannes along with his partner-producer Sara Afreen as one of the 15 teams of Cinefodation-Atelier. Kamar started shooting Onnodin... in 2014 but the selection of Shikolbaha in La Fabrique in Cannes forced him to discontinue. “If everything goes according to plan, I will be able to wrap the shooting by December,” says the director. French filmmaker Jean luc Godard's The Image Book has also been selected by La Lucarne under the same category. “I am happy and tensed at the same time, “says Kamar.
