Dance festival concludes in Pabna
A two-day dance festival for promoting classical dance, organised by Gonttobbo, a leading dance organisation of the district, concluded on Saturday at the Pabna town hall premises, marking the 11th founding anniversary of the organisation. The festival featured a dance competition and discussion on the occasion.
Golam Faruk Khandaker Prince, lawmaker of Pabna-5 constituency, spoke as the chief guest on the concluding day of the programme, while president of the organisation Mst. Bodrun Nahar was in the chair.
The speakers focused the heritage of classical dance on the occasion. “Dance is one of the oldest forms of art. We have proudest heritage of classical dance but we are losing apart from the heritage due to western cultural influence” The speakers said.
Hundreds of dance artistes joined the dance competition. Golam Faruk Khandaker Prince distributed prizes among the performers.
Earlier, dancers brought out colourful procession on Friday afternoon, marking the dance festival.
