“I could not sit there while they went out of their way to defame me for the past two years,” said Asif Akbar while sipping on a cup of coffee. The coffee had become lukewarm by then, as the artiste went on with the heated conversation.

There is no doubt about the fact that Asif Akbar has indeed been one of the most commercially successful singers in the country, albeit much of his career has been plagued by controversy and debate. He had taken a long hiatus at the peak of his career, and came back with much fanfare. “No one can match my pace!” he says.“I am Asif Akbar, I do not bow down to anyone. At the moment, I am getting ready for a legal battle against the miscreants who want to defame me.”
