Artist Saleem gets UNESCO Award of Greece

Olympic Medal winner Bangladeshi expatriate painter Khushid Alam Saleem recently received the Club for UNESCO Award of Greece for participating in the international exhibition of the Greek-International Council on Monument and Sites Building's Gallery in Athens and his immense contribution to Bangladeshi art, according to a press release.
Ioannis Morinitis, president of Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands, visited New York to give the award to the artist Saleem at his gallery, Long Island, New York. Guy Dejoken, president of UNESCO Federation Clubs and Center, USA was also present at the event.
Born in 1951 in Mymensingh, Saleem graduated in drawing and painting from the Institute of Fine Arts (now Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka). He took a special course in advanced colour print at the Department of Art and Art Education, New York University. He has held several solo and group exhibitions in different parts of the world and has received a number of prestigious awards.
