In an effort to prevent coronavirus transmission, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today issued a directive asking concerned authorities to keep all types of shops and business centres -- except pharmacies -- closed by 7:00pm on a regular basis.
Besides, shop owners at different points across the area under DMP authority have been asked to keep their business establishments open from 6:00am to 2:00pm.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Masudur Rahman told The Daily Star that the order will remain active until further notice is issued in this regard.
Medicine stores and emergency services will not be under the purview of this directive, according to the DMP.
The DMP also sought support from general people to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
