AL to face fate of autocrats: Fakhrul
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the Awami League would have to face the fate of autocrats if it does not stop misusing state power and oppression and arrest of opposition leaders and activists.
“By bringing allegations of creating violence intentionally, the government is arresting opposition leaders and activists and with the help of joint forces the Awami criminals are carrying out attack, looting and arson on houses of the leaders and activists,” he alleged.
In a statement this evening, Fakhrul said that the government declared itself winner of the January 5 farcical election which is illegal.
“The fascist government is trying to repress the opposition by the law enforcers which is pushing the country towards instability,” he said.
He alleged that the ruling party cadres are passing the blame on the opposition after attacking Hindu minorities.
On behalf of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, he again called upon the leaders and activists of the party to help the minorities.
He, on behalf of Khaleda, also urged the party men across the country to carry on with the programmes declared by the BNP leadership in a peaceful manner.
