9 injured in Dhaka crude bomb blasts

At least five ruling party activists were injured as miscreants hurled several crude bombs at a truck they travelling on near Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka this afternoon.
They were going to Suhrawardy Udyan to attend the rally organised by the Awami League commemorating the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The injured were identified as Milon, Javed, Hassan, Aslam and Abdul Latif.
They took treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Javed said they were going to the Suhrawardy Udyan to attend the rally from Dohar.
As the truck reached the Central Shaheed Minar area, two youths riding a motorcycle hurled some five crude bombs, leaving them injured.
Besides, at least four others were injured in separate crude bomb blasts in Tantibazar, Bangshal and Lalbagh areas in the capital.
Policemen at DMCH outpost confirmed the injuries to The Daily Star.
