6 cattle traders robbed of Tk 15 lakh at Turag

Miscreants looted Taka 15 lakh from six cattle traders after stabbing one of them critically and beating the remaining others at Turag, on the outskirts of Dhaka this morning.
Jamirul, 40, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with critical stab injuries on his neck and chick while Lutfor Rahman, 40, Mokkel, 45, and Fuad Ali, 40, Ashraful, 40, and Jahangir, 45, received treatments from the hospital as they sustained injuries, police and hospital sources said.
The incident occurred around 7:00am in Balurgadi area under Turag Police Station while the cattle traders were going to their village home at Doulatpur in Kushtia district from Gabtoli by a big truck after selling their cows, BBS reports quoting Ali Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Turag Police Station.
He said that seven cattle traders boarded the truck from Gabtoli around 6:00am and soon after it reached Balurgadi area the criminals stabbed Jamirul critically as he tried to resist them and beat five others. One of the seven cattle traders, Abu Hanif, 30, who is believed to be involved in the misdeed fled with the criminals, the OC added.
Filing of a case in this connection is underway.
