6 AL men stabbed, 7 trucks torched in Chapainawabganj

Miscreants stabbed at least six Awami League activists and set fire to seven fruits laden trucks in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj this evening.
Identity of the injured could not be known immediately, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.
Locals and witnesses said miscreants at different locations in Kansat attacked six AL activists when they were returning homes around 6:00pm from local AL leader Golam Rabbani’s house at Pukuria in the upazila.
Shahadat Hossain, general secretary of Shibganj upazila unit AL alleged that Jamaat-BNP men attacked their activists with sharp weapons and injured them seriously.
Locals rushed them to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors referred them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated, said Dr Kushal Kumar at the health complex.
In another development, miscreants set fire to seven fruits (orange) laden Dhaka-bound trucks on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid Land Port highway at Pailing intersection of Shibganj Municipal area around 6:30pm, Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Receiving information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire, said Ardesh Ali, station officer of Chapainawabganj fire station.
