49 teachers join training in Sylhet
Skill development of school teachers is very important to ensure that children learn the English language properly, speakers told the inaugural session of a two-day teachers' training workshop in Sylhet city yesterday.
In the workshop, headmasters and English language teachers will be involved while students encouraged to improve their English language proficiency through different tools and techniques, they said.
A total of 49 teachers from 25 secondary schools of Sylhet, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar districts are taking part in the workshop under the “English in Schools” (EIS) programme.
Sponsored by Robi Axiata, the programme is being hosted by The Daily Star in Nirvana Inn.
The Daily Star Managing Editor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Robi Axiata General Manager Shayaka Sharmin and Sylhet District Education Officer Md Jahangir Alam spoke on the occasion.
Shireen Hasan, founder executive director of X-cel, Institute of Interactive Learning, her team and EIS Training Consultant Md Mahfuzul Bari are conducting the training that includes sharing of opinions and presentation and demonstration of lesson delivery techniques, among others.
