4 Indian citizens held

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three teenage Indian boys on charge of entering Bangladesh illegally through Hili frontier in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur on Monday, reports our correspondent.

The arrestees were Dudi Roy, 17, Janoy Sarker, 18, and Uli Roy, 14, of Panchhata village of Dakkhin Dinajpur in Paschimbanga state. 

The law enforcers also detained Razu Ahmed, 16, a local Bangladesh youth for providing shelter to the arrestees.

Lt Col Abdur Razzak Tarafdar, commanding officer of BGB-3 Battalion in Joypurhat, said a patrol team of BGB arrested the trio from Churipatti area of the upazila when they entered Bangladesh territory around 12:00 noon and handed them over to police.

Away in Kurigram, police on Monday evening arrested an Indian citizen along with 90 thousand Indian Rupees from Kashipur frontier in Phulbari upazila of the district, reports our correspondent.

The arrestee is Mofizul Haque, 35, son of Khalilur Rahman of Indian enclave Dhashiar Chhara village inside Phulbari upazila. 

Sources said, being tipped-off, a patrol team of police led by ASI Faruk Hossain conducted a drive in Kashipur frontier area around 7:30pm and arrested Mofizul with the Indian currency from his possession.
