30 injured in Savar Otobi factory fire

At least 30 people were injured when an Otobi Furniture factory in Akran area of Savar upazila caught fire on Tuesday night.

Witnesses said the fire originated from an unknown source at the factory around 10:00pm and it soon engulfed the whole factory, injuring the 30 people.

At least 400 employees were reportedly working in the factory when the fire broke out.

On information, 11 fire-fighting units from Savar, Savar EPZ and Uttara fire stations rushed in and doused the flames around 3:00am.

Three of the injured were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital.
