3 killed in Tangail road crash

Three people were killed and another was injured as a truck rammed a taxi cab on Bangabandhu Bridge link road in Kalihati upazila of Tangail today.

A sand-laden truck hit an oncoming Dhaka-bound taxi cab at Salla around 7:30am, landing the cab into a ditch.

The accident left the cab driver and two passengers dead on the spot while another injured, said Mohammad Akheruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station.

The accident took place due to poor visibility following dense fog, the OC said.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

In another road accident, a man was killed and four were injured as an ambulance crashed into a stationed truck in the same area around 8:15am, the OC said.
