3 kabaddi stars up for auction in India
Three Bangladeshi kabaddi players will be among 96 players to be put on auction in India on Tuesday for a franchise-based IPL-styled kabaddi competition titled 'Pro-Kabaddi League'.
The auctions will feature 72 Indian players and 24 foreigners. Each of the eight teams can have a maximum of 12 players (minimum nine Indians and up to three foreigners). But all three foreign players of a team can play in a game.
Other than the three Bangladeshis -- Ziaur Rahman, Abu Saleh Musa and Arduzzaman -- players from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iran, Japan, the UK, Indonesia, South Korea, Oman, Taiwan, Kenya and Turkmenistan make up the 24 foreigners.
The names of the three Bangladeshi players -- three of the best in the country -- have been proposed by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation.
The league, which has been launched in association with the International Kabaddi Federation, will kick off on July 26 and end on August 31.
