265 high-ups now OSD

Two hundred and sixty five high officials of the government are officers on special duty at present, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadek said in parliament yesterday.
Of the 265, three are secretaries, 46 additional secretaries, 139 joint secretaries and 77 are deputy secretaries, said the state minister replying to lawmakers' queries.
Ismat Ara also informed the House that a total of 2.75 lakh posts remain vacant at present under different ministries.
The state minister said there were 62 secretaries, 304 additional secretaries, 927 joint secretaries and 1,310 deputy secretaries working at present under different ministries and departments.
The state minister also said there were three Hindus working as secretaries; 40 Hindus, two Christians and four Buddhists working as additional secretaries; 121 Hindus, three Christians and two Buddhists working as joint secretaries and 128 Hindus, one Christian and eight Buddhists are working as deputy secretaries.
She also informed that of the total deputy commissioners, 60 are Muslims and four are Hindus.
The state minister submitted a list of district-wise government officials working as secretaries, additional secretaries, joint secretaries and deputy secretaries.
