They are SI Modasser Hossain and SI Sohel Rana. Each of them were jailed for two years. Magistrate Fazlul Karim also fined them Tk 5,000 and Tk 1,000 respectively.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested them from Boalia police station on March 21. They also recovered Tk 15,000 in cash from their possession.

SI Modasser caught a man with five passports from Dhaka bus terminal. Modasser promised his release on payment of Tk 30,000. The man's relatives paid him Tk 15,000, but the policemen were insisting for the rest amount. SI Sohel was carrying the money with him.
