Concern over demolition of city slums

Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) yesterday expressed deep concern over demolition of slums in the city in the name of evicting illegal structures.

In a statement, it said evicting the slums without rehabilitation is a clear violation of human rights.

It also said it is necessary to evict the illegal grabbers but eviction of the slums without arranging alternative housing is inhuman.

BSD demanded rehabilitation of the slum dwellers and hawkers.
