2 wounded as criminals spray bullets at shop

A gang of criminals sprayed bullets into a metal sheet store in the Dholaikhal area yesterday leaving two people injured, one critically. The injured are Salahuddin, 50, and Mohammad Rubel from Goalghat in Sutrapur. Both were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Salahuddin is in a critical condition, said hospital sources. At around 2:00 pm, the assailants started firing indiscriminately into Haji Sobhan Steel at Dholaikhal. The victims were inside the store and sustained injuries to their legs, hands and chest. The criminals fled the scene soon after the firing. Police suspect that extortionists might have carried out the attack.
