The dead was identified as Montu Mia, 18, of East Kazipara of Kafrul.

Montu went to the military hardware show at the National Parade Ground with his friend Masud, 20, at 8:00am, said Masud.

Police said the gate was not opened until 9:00am and hundreds of people had been waiting. Montu, Masud, 20, and Masud, 24, were stampeded as they along with many others tried to enter the parade ground.

Members of the armed forces rescued Montu in a critical condition and sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared him dead.

DMCH sources said the two other injured left hospital after receiving primary treatment.

Montu's brother Ruhul Amin filed an unnatural death case with Kafrul Police Station, said police.
